As part of EMO Hannover 2025, the world's leading trade fair for metalworking, HAIMER, together with its partners WinTool and Toolbase, raffled off a complete Tool Room of the Future worth over €70,000. The winner has now been announced: the Technical University of Braunschweig - Germany's oldest technical university - can look forward to receiving the state-of-the-art equipment.
The aim of the competition was to actively introduce EMO visitors to the possibilities of a fully digitally networked tool room. The Tool Room of the Future is a prime example of modern manufacturing – with maximum efficiency, process reliability, and data transparency across all steps: from presetting and shrink fitting to digital tool management.
The new tool room at TU Braunschweig will now be equipped with state-of-the-art HAIMER technology: the Power Clamp Eco Plus i4.0 shrink fit machine, the UNO 20|40 Premium presetting device, the Toolbase EL-9 Professional dispensing cabinet, and the WinTool Basic Module for digital tool management.
“We are delighted that the Tool Room of the Future is now being used at a renowned educational institution such as the Technical University of Braunschweig,” says Ulrich Vennemann, HAIMER Sales Manager for Northern Germany. “This enables us to support students and researchers in experiencing the future of manufacturing in a practical way – in line with the principles of digitalization and increased efficiency.”
The prize was ceremoniously handed over at the Institute for Machine Tools and Manufacturing Technology (IWF) at TU Braunschweig. In the picture (from left to right):
